    Boston Harbor Lughthouse
    Boston, MA c1885
    A 75-foot tower was built in 1783 to replace a tower destroyed by the British in 1776. In 1859 the tower was raised 15 feet. America's first fog cannon was installed near the original tower in 1719.
    Highland Lighthouse
    North Truro, MA c1890
    The present 66-foot tower was completed in 1857 to replace an older tower in danger of falling off the bluff. The bluff erodes on an average of 3 to 25 feet per year.
