MY FATHER BROUGHT THIS BACK TO ME FROM JAPAN AS A GIFT IN 1958 AND IT HAS BEEN TREATED WITH TLC EVER SINCE!
IT'S HARD TO FIND A VINTAGE PIECE IN THIS CONDITION!
AND WELL-WORTHY OF A PLACE IN VICTORIA'S SECRET.
FAR EXCEEDS THOSE HIGH-PRICED PAJAMA GRAMS OFFERED AT CHRISTMAS EVERY YEAR!
Although its a lounging set, I could easily see the jacket worn on its own revealing a black silk undergarment.  I'd evening be so daring as to wear the jacket to a cocktail party!
Satin/silk is not just reserved for the boudoir, ladies

I recently put an iron to it to remove the wrinkles so as to shoot the photos, otherwise, it has NEVER been worn and only out of the bag a few times in its long lifetime. Seeing it come alive for the first time laid out and unwrinkled, I found it hard to do it justice with the photos.
IT IS ALL ORIGINAL...and came as a set with the delicately patterned aqua color jacket, wide-legged black pants and a pair of footwear matching the jacket. The matching handled carry bag is of the same fabric as the jacket; it has faded over the years appearing lighter in color. The fabric feels and looks like satin...definitely luxurious to the touch and sensational against the skin. However, I am unsure of the fabric as it is unmarked.
All of the pieces are in excellent to near-new condition inside and out.  Photo #7 shows the jacket front (placed side by side for the photo) with faint age stains/discoloration on either side; they are hardly noticeable without careful scrutiny. The bottom of the footwear has some age discoloration.
Both top and pants are marked size 34.
I am 5' 1 1/2" tall  wearing a size 6 and it's a tad snug on me on the top & hips.  So it's for a small woman with a 34" bust line.
Measurements are approximate but close:
Front underarm to underarm: 19"
Shoulder to Shoulder front 16"
24 to 25" waist (plain front with an elastic back accounts for the extra stretch)
36 to 38" hip
Jacket is 23" in length
Pants are 38" in length
The footwear would fit a small size 6
