Antique Victorian Shell Work Basket with Glass Dome and Wooden Base
This is a beautiful handled basket of delicate floral shell work on a wire frame.  It is encased by a large glass dome on a dark wooden base, approximately 12 inches tall.  The basket rests on a piece of black velvet within the dome. There are some losses to the flowers; please view photo details.  Dating from the 19th century, I believe these often came from the Caribbean Islands.  Due to the delicate nature of this piece, I am currently offering it for local pickup in the San Francisco Bay area.
