Order of Saint George 4th class with a pentagonal mount

Awarded for: Distinction in combat
Originally established on 26 November 1769 Julian (7 December 1769 Gregorian) as the highest military decoration of the Russian Empire for commissioned officers and generals by Empress Catherine the Great. The Order of Saint George is divided into four classes, from the First Class to the Fourth class.
The Order fourth class is a 40mm cross worn on the left breast hanging from a pentagonal mount made of a ribbon of Saint George.
A quality copy from the original historical sample of the bronze gold-plated capitular St.George cross.
This suggestion gained widespread use since 1915.
Brass, original gold plated, white cold enamel.
Sizes: 37 x 37 mm (1.45" x 1.45").
Weight: 17 gr.

Орден Святого Георгия четвертой степени офицерский. Качественная копия, изготовленная по образцу бронзового капитульного Георгиевского креста. Данный вариант получил распространение с 1915 года - большинство награжденных офицеров заказывали себе именно такие кресты, так как он стоил значительно дешевле золотого (офицеры, в отличие от нижних чинов, заказывали и оплачивали свой орден из собственных средств). Колодка изготовлена из ленты и входит с стоимость лота. Ношение на шитой матерчатой ленточной колодке - достаточно распространенный способ ношения в то время. Металлические колодки, как правило, заказывались частным способом. Размер - 37 х 37 мм. Вес - 17 гр. Изготовлен из латуни. Холодная эмаль, позолоченные металлические части.
