Schwinn 16 Inch Krate Speedometer Complete Original Box Great Condition Near NOS

This auction is for a vintage Schwinn complete 16 inch Krate speedometer. This will work with any Schwinn Krate bike. It is a genuine accessory that was made for Schwinn. This speedometer comes with the original packaging but it has been removed and mounted once for a short period of time.......according to the previous owner of the bike I took it off of. He said he opened the NOS package himself. It is in very good condition with only some light scratches on it.....pictured. The drive unit does look more used that the other parts.
The speedometer does work. The drive unit spins but it seems a little tight to me.....not real easy to turn. It has been mounted one time but barely ridden as the odometer shows only 1 mile and almost 3 tenths. The previous owner did not use all of the parts. The washers and foam ring was not used when it was mounted. This resulted it it being overtightened to the inside of the drive unit leaving a nut scar on the inside and a very small crack on the outside.....both pictured. Under the glass on the left hand side there is a dull section that kind of looks like a water run. May be able to take it apart and clean the glass. Overall still a pretty nice Krate speedo in the original box.
