Vintage Sturmey Archer Sportshift Banana Seat Muscle Bike 3-Speed Shifter No 2

Description

A vintage Sturmey Archer Sportshift 3-Speed stick shifter. This shifter was used on many muscle bikes the 60's and 70's including some CCM Mustangs, Raleigh Rodeo, Columbia Playbike, and others. This is the earlier version of the Sportshift shifter, with the clear chrome cover and 1-2-3 decal on the top of the shifter base. This shifter is used but is in nice condition with decent cover. The clamp on this shifter is a 1 inch clamp for single top tube muscle bikes. The chrome plastic cover is ok, with a crack by the hole where the cover screws to the base and some white spots in the plastic from age. The chrome on the shift arm and the shifter base is nice, with just some slight peppering on the shift arm from a little rust that I cleaned off the arm. The shift knob is in decent condition, it shines great, but has a few stains on the sides. The shift pattern decal is a reproduction from bcrawf1 here on eBay. The reproduction decal is spot on, and although not a water slide like the original decal, it is thin and looks like the original decal when mounted.
