Vintage Ward & Payne bevel edge socket chisel.  The chisel is in decent condition for its age.
The steel is clean but has visible patina and staining.  The edge needs a good sharpening.  The socket is not cracked.  The socket is slightly curled.  This type of wear occurs when the handle isn't properly fit, or if you strike the socket directly with a mallet.  The wooden handle is marked "Craftsman" so I don't believe it's original to the chisel.
I lightly cleaned the tool using nonabrasive techniques.
