This is a original World War Two USN Grumman F6F Hellcat Fighter Pilot's Sliding Canopy Section, left Side. This canopy section is new old stock. The over spray can be removed with hot water and wax. It has a tag identifying this a being from an F6F-3 Hellcat. This window was made to be broken out if the pilot got stuck in the aircraft and could not get the canopy open. It is 25 x 19 x 1 inches.The Hellcat was U.S. Navy's front line fighter from 1943 until the end of World War Two.This outstanding fighter plane was able to completely dominate the dogfights fought in the Pacific. The USN's Highest scoring ace David McCampbell flew the Hellcat.Today the Hellcat is a rare aircraft and very few are left flying out of over 12000 made!
